Our Conservation Efforts

Sustainability of natural resources

Heritage Safaris operates on strict regulations to maintain thriving populations of wildlife in our areas. Our wildlife management programs are are designed to sustain a healthy population of all species. We implement well thought-out and well researched wildlife management programs, which are specifically set out to manage and ensure on going sustainability and conservation of all species.

Wildlife conservation & Antipoaching

Conservation and anti-poaching are one of the primary areas of focus for Heritage Safaris. We dedicate many hours and resources to this cause by managing our own private antipoaching units, as well supporting TAWA with their antipoaching efforts. We are proud to say over the years these efforts have resulted in a drastic reduction of wildlife poaching for both the illegal trade of species and illegal bush meat in our concessions. Our teams work tirelessly protecting our areas. Sadly this will be a never ending fight, but we are proudly committed to this cause.

Enrichment of rural areas and inhabitants nearby

Through our form of conservation tourism we contribute to numerous advantages for rural areas nearby including:

  • Income generation and employment in poor and disadvantaged areas.
  • Direct benefits for rural areas such as monetary (through employment & donations).
  • Building awareness amongst the local population regarding the value of wildlife.
  • Less poaching through the concerted efforts of all who are interested in the revenues generated by tourism.
  • Economic and wise use of habitats which are not well suited for agriculture and conventional tourism.
